Talk a little bit about the decisions you made, and what you wish you had known when you were their age. Be sincere; this is something that your daughter and her partner will remember for the rest of their lives, so make it count.
It might be a little difficult to know how to end a speech; this can be awkward even for experienced speech givers, but you’ll find that as the father of the bride, you have an easy out. All you need to do is present the bride and the groom to the audience. Something like, “Ladies and gentlemen, I now give you…” will end in applause and a great opportunity for you to bow out.
